Cork-based Photographer Wins National Landscape Photography Award

Glanmire-based photographer Roger Overall has won the Best Landscape Image category at the National Photographic Awards 2008. The awards were presented during a gala dinner at the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin on Sunday, 13th January.

"I'm thrilled to have won a significant national print award with a picture taken here in Co. Cork, especially as the competition this year was especially tough," Mr Overall said.

According to the chairman of the judging panel, Vincent O'Byrne: "This year saw the highest number of entries for the national awards, which are presented in 30 separate categories, promoting the very best in Irish professional photography."

The National Photographic Awards are run by the Irish Professional Photographers Association (IPPA) and sponsored by Royal & Sun Alliance.

Roger Overall is a Soho Solo member. He is a commercial and social photographer who has worked for clients both in Ireland and abroad. He specialises in food, architecture and documentary wedding photography.
